Regular checkups are a very important part of maintaining positive dental health. We encourage all of our patients to visit our practice at least once every six months for this very purpose. Even if a patient is not aware of any current oral health problems or issues, we may still uncover something that can only be detected through a professional examination. We may also catch problems that are currently developing and intervene before they cause serious issues. By making regular visits to Allen Dental Center, a patient will give themselves the best chance of maintaining strong and healthy teeth.
We make sure that patients are kept comfortable during regular checkups. Our lobby features a stocked beverage bar, and patients can feel refreshed while they wait for their appointment. We have flat-screen TVs in our patient rooms so that patients can watch television. Or if they prefer music, we can offer wireless headphones. Additionally, pillows and blankets are available for comfort. And making an appointment is always easy with our family scheduling options, extended hours and Saturday appointments. We also invite all patients to ask us about our financing options if needed.
We provide oral cancer screenings for every patient, as we never really know when the condition may emerge. These screenings are particularly important for patients at a higher risk of developing cancer, including those who smoke and drink regularly. Catching the disease in its earliest stages gives us the best chance of successfully treating the patient and helping them restore their health. During the screening, we will check the patient’s gums, lips, tongue, throat, face and other soft oral tissues for any signs that cancer may be present.
Digital X-rays are very important, as they often represent the only way to check for certain problems or issues that may be hidden from the naked eye. Once we have taken the digital X-rays, we can upload any findings to a monitor. This will allow us to easily share the X-rays with the patient if needed. Our practice also uses an intraoral camera and Galileos 3D Imaging to provide highly detailed examinations for patients. Some of the problems that are may be detected through the use of digital X-rays include tooth decay, jawbone deterioration oral cysts, gum disease and more. Based on the findings, we may recommend a special type of teeth cleaning for the patient to restore their dental health.
